AR Rahman’s recent performance for the MTV Coke Studios is
getting broadcasted today, 17th August.
In this show, two of AR Rahman’s new tracks from his latest album Rasaayana
Rojakkal will be performed. One of those songs, ‘Naan Yen Pirandein’ written by
poet Vaali is about a girl shunned by society because of her dark skin and
abject poverty.
The other song to feature in this show is “Ennile Maha Oliyo”. This song,
penned by Kutti Revathy is supposedly about the world of a liberated woman.
Meanwhile, Rasaayana Rojakkal, meaning ‘chemical roses’ is a music album with
women empowerment as its theme. Produced by KM Musiq, AR Rahman has composed
the tracks for the album.
